In our past reviews, we’ve spoken about the careers of designers, writers, influencers, and developers in crypto. All of these professions are fascinating in their own way. Nonetheless, there is yet another exciting, albeit equally responsible position in the crypto field — community manager.

In today’s article, we’ll talk about who a community manager is and why you might want to become one.

Who is a community manager?

A community manager is a person who communicates with the crypto project audience. The manager provides community members with answers to questions about the project, assists participants navigate the project’s philosophy, and helps them better understand the vision, goals, and mission that the project adheres to.

It is also the manager’s responsibility to conduct raffles and AMA (Ask-Me-Anything) sessions and present additional information related to the contests (e.g., terms and conditions of participation, links to reference materials, etc.).

In other words, managers are the bridge between the project and its investors. Projects need community managers both before and after the launch of a token.

Since this position entails working with people on a regular basis, community managers are always in demand in the crypto industry job market.

What is the main point of employment for a community manager?

The most common places to work as a community manager are those social networks that are popular in crypto. Here we are talking about Discord, Twitter, Reddit, and Telegram. That’s why most job descriptions primarily hold the names of these social media.

On the other hand, crypto projects are nowadays exploring different models of cooperation with managers, so you can also try your hand at TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

You also have a chance to host the project’s YouTube channel or even be a manager of the project’s app.

What set of qualities should a community manager have?

As a general rule, employers consider candidates for this position someone who has a bachelor’s degree in journalism or marketing.

But this rule does not necessarily work in every case.

In this line of work, experience or skill in operating on a particular social network (or, better yet, experience interacting with various types of audiences) is far more valuable than a degree.
